How did the Pre-Health Student Resource Center support you in your goal of becoming a health professional?
I worked with PHSRC throughout my whole undergraduate experience at UMN. I enrolled in all of the Future Physicians courses and went on the Global Future Physician trip to India my sophomore year. I attended many workshops at PHSRC, including interview and personal statement workshops. I learned a lot from the knowledgeable PHSRC staff about the medical school application process and the lifestyle of a physician, much of which was very foreign to me before I came to college. I met with Tricia Todd many times to discuss my personal statement, application, etc. Her knowledge was vast and honest.
What piece of advice would you give to someone exploring or preparing for a health profession?
A piece of advice for those in preparation of a health profession: Take the hard classes during your undergraduate career to prepare yourself for professional school. It will be worth it!
