What We Offer

Student looking at handout

The Pre-Health Student Resource Center is here to help you prepare for a health professional program, wherever you might be in the process. We support students all along your journey to a health career - from exploring health career options, developing an authentic and competitive portfolio of experiences, and preparing your application to a health professional program.

Look below for our list of courses, online workshops, and special events. Drop-in the office to pick up program and pre-requisite information for health professional programs. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep updated on trends in health program admissions and health career fields.

Students can access the Pre-Health Student Resource Center in a few different ways:

  • Drop-In Advising: Students can drop into our office in 2-565 Moos Tower between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and speak with Jenna, our PHSRC Student Services Specialist. Jenna is able to assist students with many of their questions during those drop in hours. If the student has a need for a more personalized appointment, Jenna can help set that up for them.
  • Appointments with PHSRC Career Counselors: Students can make an appointment to meet 1-on-1 with a career counselor by filling out a Health Program Action Plan, or completing an online workshop (and accompanying work product, e.g. a personal statement draft).
  • Take a health career exploration course with the PHSRC.
  • 612-624-6767

Events

The Pre-Health Student Resource Center hosts a variety of events and information sessions throughout the year to help students learn about the different health career options available. Two of our major events include the Health Careers Fair (fall semester) and the Health Professional School Expo (spring semester).

Courses

The Pre-Health Student Resource Center offers credit-based pre-health exploration courses. These courses help students determine which health career is a good fit for them, allow them to explore a field that is of interest to them, or gain meaningful experience as they prepare for application to a health professional program.
